Other Co-curricular

Art and Culture play a critical role in fomenting the talents of our girls, and visual art and music are highly valued subjects. Soirées and an annual stage production form part of the curriculum. Physical Education lessons are an important part of the day and our dynamic sports’ department ensures the girls experience many opportunities to grow their personal fitness and hone their talents by participating in a range of individual and team sports.

Our Literature Circle classes are an integral part of our curriculum and prove very successful, especially in the girls’ quality and quantity of choices, as well as their oral and written responses to literature. These are weekly lessons devoted solely to reading and studying literature.

“Diversity and inclusion are addressed in detail, and the girls are exposed to many opportunities to embrace these concepts that play such a vital role in our community”.

Our Life Skills curriculum is guided by our founding values of Truth, Honour, Freedom and Courtesy and helps to develop our girls’ awareness of self and their place in the world, within a kind, nurturing environment. We encourage girls to become more conscious of their physical and emotional wellbeing, social responsibility, as well as their personal goals and ideals.

In Grade 7, the girls are ready to embrace a leadership programme, as they work towards achieving their Digne badge for service.

Diversity and inclusion are addressed in detail, and the girls are exposed to many opportunities to embrace these concepts that play such a vital role in our community.

Our Cognitive Education Programme is another major focus; we are an accredited University of Exeter Thinking School. Thinking strategies, including Habits of Mind, De Bono’s Thinking Hats, Thinking Maps, and Growth Mindset, are incorporated into every aspect of the curriculum and are part and parcel of every girl’s thinking.
