INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
We are privileged to be in an environment in which we have a strongly networked infrastructure with access to a wide range of technological resources. At Roedean, we have adopted a blended -learning approach. Technology does not replace traditional teaching methods, but simply enhances the student’s extended learning experience. We are constantly exploring new methodologies that will enable us to transform and to improve the learning process.
Every girl studies IT in grades 8 and 9.
Information technology emphasises formal instruction in a range of Office packages, Adobe PhotoShop, Flash and Dreamweaver. Coding and basic programming in JavaScript and Flash Game design is also taught.
In addition to technology, we also tackle issues such as Social Media, Copyright and eSafety & Research Skills, such as Internet searches, how to cite sources properly and evaluate websites for veracity.
Armed with a solid foundation in computer literacy, the Roedean girl should feel confident in facing the future.
