Sport is an integral part of teaching and learning at Roedean School and the sporting activities on offer address the active needs of each child, as well as provide a foundation for future excellence.
Sport exercises each girl’s faculties in the physical, cognitive, and emotional realms. Our aim is to do more than just feed a pupil’s capacity for growth and development; ultimately, it is to direct that growth and development in accordance with what are believed to be the best long-term interests of the child.
We believe that physical activity and development are an important part of a holistic approach to education. Roedean strongly supports the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Philosophy, which highlights the exposure to a variety of sports, while creating a lifelong passion for sport and an active lifestyle.
The Sports’ Department is passionate about its successes and will continue to improve on its implementation going forward.
